SPAM

We all hate spam, right? So here is a way to virtually eliminate all spam and if you do get spam, you will know exactly who the root cause of the spam is and eliminate it at its root.

1) Create a new subdomain under the domain section in your cpanel. As an example I’m going to use mysite.co.za as your main domain and pete.mysite.co.za as the newly created subdomain.

2) Create a new, secrete mail box in cpanel under mail - email accounts, that you will reveal to nobody, lets call it:
spamfree-pete@mysite.co.za

3) Every time you sign up with a forum or reveille your email address to anyone, lets say John. Instead of using your real email address you give him an address such as john@pete.mysite.co.za

4) Create a forward in cpanel under mail - forwarders for the address you gave to John. Make sure you select the pete.mysite.co.za subdomain when you create the forward and forward the mail to your spam free address.

5) Now if you start receiving spam addressed to john@pete.mysite.co.za then you know exactly who gave your email address away and you can go give John a slap on the wrist or you can even go as far as removing the forward that you created in step 4 and buy-buy spam.

There are one slight problem using this method, and that is when you receive mail addressed to one of the forwarded addresses and reply to it, with most mail clients you will reveal your secret spam free mail address. To get round this, you can use Thunderbird and install the Virtual Identity add on.

Introduction

Not so long ago someone I know got a web site for her business. She had to sign a 12 month contract. It cost her R250 to get the site set up (Designed) and a ridiculous R50 per month for the hosting of the site. Plus R150 each and every time she want changes made to the site. So do the maths, that is R850 for a static web site that just sit there and did really nothing for her business. Though I do offer web design services as well, I encourage my clients to build their own web site with easy to use online web design software that we include with all our plans. This software can be used without any knowledge of html coding.

If you have some html coding knowledge and know how to use FTP to upload/download files then you could also use one of our 4500 templates to create your own site. The truth is that most of these expensive site designers also just use simple templates that they get from some or other source.
